In the pulp industry, digesters are used to disolve lignin in wood chips. The concentration of lignin is measured and is called the Kappa number. In this thesis, the question of whether an online Kappa sensor, taking samples from the mid-phase of the digester, is useful or not is analyzed. For the samples to be useful, there has to be a relationship between the measured Kappa at the mid- phase and the measured Kappa in the blowpipe at the bottom of the digester. An ARX model of the lower part of the digester has been estimated.

Njurarna är ett organsystem med viktiga funktioner som exempelvis utsöndring av flertalet vattenlösliga substanser. För att sjukdomssymtom ska uppträda krävs mer än tre fjärdedelars bortfall av njurfunktionen, eftersom njurarna har en enorm reservkapacitet. Genom att analysera bland annat proteinerna albumin, immunoglobulin G, kappa och lambda i urin utreds om njurfunktionen fungerar som den ska. Analys av dessa proteiner kan ske med analysinstrumenten IMMAGE 800 från Beckman Coulter och BN ProSpec från DADE BEHRING. Båda dessa analysinstrument använder sig av metoden nefelometri, som är en metod där ljusspridning i en vätska eller gas kan mätas.Syftet med föreliggande studie var att analysera urinprover på både IMMAGE 800 och BN ProSpec och sedan jämföra resultaten.

Aim: The aim of this study was to examine a way to measure students? knowledge development by using a self-made measure instrument based on William Doll?s postmodern curriculum.Question: Is it suitable to use an self-made measure instrument based on William Doll?s post-modern curriculum theory to measure development of knowledge?Methods: The study was based on process-hermeneutics and was focused on analysingcollege students? written and oral reflective thoughts. The data was collected over three lessons, where six students? written reflective thoughts were handed in. An observation was carried out each lesson for an extra control of validity.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att föreslå åtgärder för att uppnå minskade kostnader för förrådshållningen vid Kappa Kraftliner Piteå. Åtgärderna skulle omfatta förslag på hur de förrådsförda artiklarna ska klassificeras. En modell för förrådsstyrning, baserad på artikelklassificeringen, skulle sedan tas fram. För att uppnå syftet har litteraturstudier inom ämnet gjorts och berörd och kunnig personal vid Kappa Kraftliner har intervjuats. En uppfattning av de förrådsförda artiklarna har skapats genom intervjuer samt observationer.

In industrial control systems PID-control remains the prevalent strategy, also for processes that would benefit from model based control. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate whether model based control can be readily implemented in an industrial control system. To this end a simulated surge tank with a simulated industrial control system is studied. For evaluation two scenarios with specified objectives are selected.Following a review of LQR and versions of MPC, Predictive Functional Control (PFC) is considered the most suitable for implementation. PFC is a form of MPC developed with industrial applications in mind and therefore has several advantages for implementation in an industrial control system.

Vid simuleringen av köldbärarledningens huvudstam uppstod det sträckor med höga tryckfall som är koncentrerade till massabruket. I de mindre avsticken uppstod de högsta tryckfallen även här på massabruket. För att minska tryckfallsförlusterna i köldbärarledningarna är det bästa om möjligt att försöka justera in systemet så bra som möjligt. Från beräkningarna som är gjorda kan det avläsas att köldbärarsystemets huvudstam på massabruket är belastad mer än vad den är på pappersbruket. Vid konvertering av den befintliga absorptionskylmaskinen kan Kappa Kraftliner Piteå spara ungefär 0,93 MSEK per driftår genom att ersätta lågtrycksångan med antingen flashlut eller flashånga som drivvärmealternativ.

Studier har visat att det finns ett samband mellan syskonplacering och locus of control, medan andra studier inte funnit något samband. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka relationen mellan syskonplacering, kön och locus of control ur ett hälsoperspektiv hos gymnasieelever i årskurs 3. I undersökningen deltog 147 gymnasielever ifrån fem skolor i Kronobergs län. Resultatet visade att kön och syskonplacering samvarierade med intern health locus of control (F= 3,01;p< 0,03; ES= 6,2) och att syskonplacering och kön tillsammans inte visade någon signifikant inverkan på extern health locus of control (F= 2,20;p=<0,09; ES= 4,6). Tidigare studier som gjorts, där överens-stämmelsen mellan veterinärers subjektiva bedömning av hältor jämförts, har visat på att samstämmigheten är otillfredsställande. Inga av dessa studier har undersökt hur samstämmiga veterinärer är vid bedömning av hältor hos häst som longeras i trav. Detta examensarbete är utfört på Smurfit Kappa Kraftliner, Piteå i syfte att undersöka hur motivation, målarbete och rutiner uppfattas av medarbetare och ledning samt om det som kommer från ledningen är det samma som kommer ut på golvet. Utöver detta innehåller studien intervjuer av ledning och medarbetare på Svalson och kirurgkli-niken, Sunderby sjukhus. Dessa nämnda verksamheter har valts ut på grund av att de belönats för sitt arbete inom dessa områden. Datan har sedan använts för att kunna se hur andra verksamheter än pappersindustrin, arbetar med dessa frågor.
